Altar frontal for St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Bainbridge Island

65” x 74” 1996

Machine pieced and machine quilted by Maggie Ball.

Donated to St. Barnabas Church by Maggie Ball, for use at the Great Feasts of Christmas, Easter and Pentecost. The design combines elements symbolic of these Feasts – the star for Christmas, the cross for Easter, and the tongues of flame (the feathers on the star) for Pentecost.

Award winner at Kitsap Quilters’ Guild and Quilters Anonymous shows.

Banner for St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Bainbridge Island

Made by Maggie Ball and donated to St. Barnabas Church.

The design includes a map of Bainbridge Island, a ferry boat (our life-line to Seattle!), the church, and the St. Barnabas crest. Maggie used many quilting techniques including hand and machine appliqué, machine piecing, foundation paper piecing, English paper piecing, hand embroidery, and machine quilting.
