Feathered Star – Supplies list

28½” Radiant Star block with your choice of center – Le Moyne Star, Snowball or Kaleidoscope.

Basic sewing supplies (including thread, pins, scissors and seam ripper)
Sewing machine in good working order, extension cord
Iron and board (unless supplied by workshop host)
Rotary cutter, mat, rulers (6” x 24” and 6" x 12”, Omnigrid recommended)
Graph paper – 4 squares per inch, Scotch tape (option – purchase large sheet of graph paper from Maggie at class)
Template plastic (minimum size 6” x 9”)
Sharp pencil, colored pencils, fine Sharpie, stapler, fabric marking pen/pencil/chalk
6 sheets of blank paper (printer paper)

Fabric for one block:

• ¾ yard background
• ¼ yard star arms (may need more if you want to fussy cut selected motifs from the fabric)
• Variety of ¼ yard pieces for feathers, diamond points and arm-pit triangles, and 8 center triangles adjacent to star arms
• Le Moyne Star center: 2 or 3 fabrics - ¼ yard pieces
• Snowball center: 9” square of fabric (option – fussy-cut this)
• Kaleidoscope center: 8 repeats of 6” x 8” portion of fabric

For the Radiant Star quilt with Le Moyne Star center and Ohio Stars in the corners – 46” x 46” (see website for picture), you will need an additional ½ yard of the theme fabric for the star arms and borders, and an additional ¾ yard of background fabric (excludes backing and binding).
