In April, I taught a workshop for the Crystal Quilters of Enumclaw and afterwards headed out to this delightful farmhouse quilt store. The store is about 5 miles from Enumclaw. Store owner, Evangeline Heglar recently opened Cow Lick Quilts n’ Crafts, (check the site for a map with directions and more), after remodeling a house on her farm. Since she launched the store last October, she’s developed a good clientele of customers from Puyallup to Kirkland and beyond.
Evangeline is enthusiastic about sharing her quilting passion and welcomed me warmly at the store. Not only may you purchase a fine selection of fabrics and quilting supplies, but she has fresh organic eggs too!
The shop is inviting and well lit with a fresh look. There are three rooms with plenty of fabrics and a lovely large classroom. Evangeline encourages quilters to come and sew when there’s no teaching going on in the classroom and there was a lady just packing up after spending the afternoon sewing.
Here are a couple of quilts that caught my eye. The chicks are fun and go with the farm theme and I loved this 9-patch and squares set like a Trip Around the World. The latter was in a window and back-lit by the natural light. It looked like a stained glass window and was so pretty.
The Enumclaw area is beautiful with Mount Rainier towering close by (hiding in the clouds when I was there). Make sure you stop at this wonderful shop when you are in the vicinity.
